2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 3/4 cup of sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until the strawberries are well-coated. Let this mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the juices to develop.

      Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan, pressing it firmly into the sides and bottom. Trim any excess crust hanging over the edges.

        Pour the strawberry mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the melted butter over the top for added richness.

          Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar over the filling.

            Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

              Remove from the oven and let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the filling to set properly.
