Ingredients

4 thick-cut pork chops (bone-in or boneless)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Sear the Pork Chops: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the pan. Sear the chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they're golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C). Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Combine Sauce Ingredients: Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ginger (if using), and red pepper flakes (if desired) to the skillet, stirring well to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Glaze the Chops: Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon the glaze over them, coating them well. Let them simmer on low for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the pork to absorb the flavors.

Serve: Plate the pork chops, drenching them in the remaining sauce from the skillet. Garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra touch.

Enjoy: Serve hot with your favorite sides—steamed vegetables or rice pair beautifully with this dish!
